Based on the shape of the tour proven CG14™ wedge, the CG16™ has a hint of offset and is slightly larger for added forgiveness. The face features the same spin maximizing technology featured on the CG15™ wedge – Tour Zip Grooves™ in combination with Cleveland® Golf's breakthrough Laser Milled™ surface roughness technology.

Using the precision accuracy of a laser, each face features four perfectly calibrated texture lines milled between each groove exactly to the conforming roughness limit. This surface roughness application optimizes ball-to-face friction and maximizes spin within the Rules of Golf. The Cleveland CG16 Satin Chrome Wedge offers maximum forgiveness and playability whilst maintaining shot-making versatility. The CG16 wedge has a large cavity back design and a deeper, hollow cavity. The cavity back design offers more perimeter weighting and increases MOI creating greater forgiveness.

The deeper cavity lowers the centre of gravity which improves the playability of the club, and helps players get the ball in the air. The wide sole design on the Cleveland CG16 Satin Chrome wedge creates maximum forgiveness and bunker performance while maintaining shot-making versatility. 'Zip groove' and 'laser-milled' technology offers the CG16 Satin Chrome wedge the maximum conforming dimensions within each groove whilst adding four laser-milled texture lines between each groove to increase the ball-to-club friction
